Through my interactions with Darlene during her work with CHATS (Community & Home Assistance to Seniors) over the past four years, I have come to appreciate her commitment to community service, advocacy, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Darlene has had the opportunity to connect with me on several occasions, including extending invitations to important community events such as the Vaughan ADP Open House, which brought together community partners and dignitaries, and the CHATS Art Showcase. Her dedication to these initiatives reflects her commitment to building relationships, strengthening community connections, and ensuring that people feel valued and included.
As someone who shares Darlene’s commitment to advocating for seniors, I recognize the importance of having individuals in public service who listen, understand the needs of their communities, and work to ensure that people have access to the support and opportunities they deserve.

Since then, I’ve continued to see that same dedication in everything she does, from volunteering at Pink Shirt Day events to her tireless work promoting CHATS events, which I witnessed firsthand as a CHATS Board Member. Darlene consistently shows up, works hard, and puts the community’s needs first.

I am very pleased to share my support for my longtime friend, Darlene, who is running for School Trustee in Newmarket, Ontario.
I have known Darlene for many years, going back to when we were both involved with Parent Council during our children’s public school years. We worked together on school events and initiatives, and during that time I saw firsthand just how deeply Darlene cared about children, families, and the importance of a strong public education system.
Even back then, Darlene was a strong advocate. She was never afraid to speak up, get involved, ask questions, and work toward what she believed was in the best interests of students and the school community. Those qualities have stayed with her over the years, and she continues to be a passionate advocate for children and education today.
I believe a School Trustee should be someone who genuinely cares, listens to the concerns of families and educators, and is prepared to advocate for the needs of students. Having personally worked alongside Darlene, I know that her commitment to education is not something new — it has been part of who she is for many years.
I am very proud to see Darlene putting her name forward to serve the Newmarket community and continuing something that has always been close to her heart: standing up for children and their education.
